Cool Cottesloe….

So I was lucky enough to escape a couple of days of that disgusting Auckland weather and fly to Perth. Beautiful weather awaited of course 😊

A friend picked me up early Saturday morning and we drove to Cottesloe beach for brekkie. Brekkie was good but that’s not what this blog is about today ……

It was “Sculptures by the Sea” time at the  beach and I took a couple snaps. I think it’s still on for another week, so worth a look! My tip … go early ,so fresh, feels good and not too busy πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

PS I didn’t swim , so glad I didn’t after hearing wee 🦈 shark story 😬

“China Girl”

Love views from the top? Me too!!

I ticked off another tower on this trip. The Oriental Pearl Tower is up there with the tall structures of the world and the view was amazing. Shanghai often has very smoggy days but today was clear enough ( by their standards) to see for miles and miles.

When you compare the view in Shanghai to the view from Auckland Skytower, it makes you realise the magnitude of this Chinese city. ( but I prefer our beautiful city and the smaller size ! )

We didn’t wait long in the queue but apparently you have a long wait at sunset or evening!

Waiting for the lift πŸ˜‰
The World ( or a city ) at my feet !

We’ve all seen those t shirts with strange translations on them ???

Check out this kids jacket !!!!! Hahaha

She’s back from Outer Space……..

Hi all, I thought it was time I got back on this blog! Β Not a holiday blog at the moment, just a few tips etc from Layovers.

I am lucky enough to be in the Amazing city of Singapore. have to share the joys of a wee meal I had today……Ion Mall, Nam Nam Noodle House, totally recommend the Pomelo Salad. I was just looking for something to tide me over till dinner, this sure hit the spot. Talk about cheap and cheerful!IMG_9033.jpgIMG_9034.jpg

Tears from Heaven …

LA cried today , an unusual occurrence, the locals couldn’t believe their eyes when the rain got heavy. We weren’t surprised as we wanted to cry too. We are definitely looking forward to seeing loved ones at home but sad that this wonderful adventure is almost over. As I write , we are in the wonderful Star Alliance Lounge waiting for our chariot ….. NZ 5!

We are talking about the last 3 weeks and there are a couple things I have missed out …. like ….. in Miami, Porsche are building an apartment tower that allows the owners to have a garage on their level, with a special lift to take your car up !!!!! Also in Miami, at a “Trump ” building, protesting was still going on.

We are still awaiting a seat on the flight so will have another bubbles and read some more of my book πŸ“šπŸ˜Š

Thank you  to my beautiful sister for joining me on this adventure , more memories for us 😍

It’s a Wrap Miami….

Sadly we can’t stay at the beautiful place that was our home for 3 days . Katherine and I wandered along Collins St and down Lincoln Rd before brekkie and here are some photos of buildings and scenes that appealed 😊

The Fab Four at brekkie, sadly out last together of this trip …..

Boarded a 777 American Airlines flight to LAX.

Apple Mojitos

So the day began with breakfast on the terrace again, the granola and French toast both equally yummy.

After breakfast we relocated to the pool again, more sun this time β˜€οΈοΈ

The day lent itself to a white wine sangria with Guacamole and corn chips, all poolside, before lunch lol.

Speaking of lunch, we all shared a pitcher of Green Apple Frozen  Mojitos, πŸ˜‹ delicious. The food part of lunch was Lobster Roll, this was just as good as the one we had in Boston, my new fave ❀️

After freshening up and dressing up, we were lucky enough to accompany John to drinks at a million $ plus penthouse apartment. I cannot describe the views as stunning seems understated. The decor was divine and every piece was beautiful. Two delightful dogs finished off the apartment.

Dinner after drinks was at Bal Harbour, a restaurant called “The  Grill “. My Kale and Rotisserie chicken salad was really tasty and Katherine’s Crispy Buttermilk Chicken burger also got a πŸ‘ thumbs up. Before the meal arrived we had “biscuits”, not as in cookies ! They are like a really light savoury scone and are so  good! I also have to mention that the ladies loo at this place deserved a special mention , best ladies loo I’ve seen.

Spicy WahineΒ

Hahaha, bet you think I mean me, but no, the name of a drink I had in a bar with Polynesian / Japanese influences. The bar was rooftop on the “1” hotel , here in South Beach, last night. But I digress..

we started the day on the balcony , breakfast delivered , which was awesome.  Katherine and I then wandered up Collins St, assisted the local economy by purchasing “just a few” items. 😝😝. We wandered back along the boardwalk , people watching as we went. There were as many beautiful people as down and out people sadly 😒 The afternoon was spent beside the pool where the sun decided to spend the whole afternoon playing hide and seek with the ⛅️ clouds . Still relaxing 😎.

We checked out the actual beach , fun fact: each hotel has an area in front of their hotel, set out with cabanas , deck chairs and beach tents. So it looks very organised and different from a Kiwi Beach. The sand is groomed and perfect.

Dinner was at the same hotel as the rooftop drinks , in a restaurant called “Beachcraft” run by Tom Colicchio, a celebrity chef. The whole hotel has a mission of organic and environmentally friendly goals, the pork belly and roasted mushrooms was amazing.

Another evening in Miami over and still no vice πŸ˜‰πŸ˜
